THE ECLIPSE AND RADIATION

Updated: Apr 23

On this occasion we will talk about the eclipse and the relationship with ULTRAVIOLET-C LIGHT (UV-C).

The solar eclipse is a fascinating event in which the Moon partially or completely covers the Sun, creating a shadow on the Earth. This rare and beautiful phenomenon occurs when the Moon, Sun and Earth align perfectly.

Speaking of UV-C Light is an ultraviolet radiation technology that has disinfectant and germicidal properties, it is used to eliminate viruses, germs, microorganisms and fungi in healthcare environments, laboratories, microchip technology and development companies, industrial production of food among others.

What does it have to do with the solar eclipse?

During an eclipse the intensity of solar radiation decreases, and an increase in UV radiation can be detected when the ring forms during an eclipse. This is an astronomical event that affects the behavior of animals and humans if observed directly without any certified filter for the eyes.

UVC light is absorbed by the Earth's atmosphere which is essential for our protection from solar radiation. However, this knowledge has also driven research into UV-C Light technology for air disinfection and purification in air conditioning systems.

So while you enjoy the solar eclipse you can reflect on how science has evolved for the development of applications and equipment that work with UV-C LIGHT. If you want to know more about how we can improve your Indoor Environmental Quality, visit our website at: www.inpal.com.mx/en/productos.
